  • Growing a garden using grow pots

With items getting harder to find in the grocery stores, I'm trying to get serious about growing my own fruits and vegetables. I tried making my own garden-bed in my backyard several years ago, but it failed once I went out of town. So I did all that hard work digging up my backyard for nothing. I recently bought some 20 gallon grow bag/pots. I'm just now hearing about them. I plan on placing them inside my failed garden-bed. Anyway, being a beginner, do anybody have any tips, like what kind of seeds to buy, hybrid or heirloom? Better yet, where's the best place to buy them? I'm leaning towards heirloom seeds, since these seeds can be used repeatedly, so you won't have to keep buying seeds. Plus I understand they're more delicious and nutritious. But I read that hybrid seeds have certain advantages as well, such higher yields, less prone to disease, less insects, and less pest. Although I'm leaning towards heirloom, what were your experiences.

Also, do anybody have any advice on how to plant these seeds, and what kind soil or soil treatments to buy. I know it's kind of late in the season, so am I too late? Btw, I'm in Atlanta. Even though our winters are not as long, we still have them, and they seem to have gotten longer since I moved down here.
