Was this Kenyan official lulled away from safety or provided inadequate security?
It's a shame to see stories like this. From the outside it seems strange how political officials can be either put in positions without effective security or lulled away from areas where they are protected. How can he be let go missing moments before he makes an important announcement?
This is not something that's unique to our people, and it reminds me how a lack of security recently lead to the assassination of Japan's ex-prime minister Shinzo Abe.

Simply because if he wasn't in danger in any way, then he would have probably have said to someone where he was going. Or if he had lost his phone/had it stolen, then he would still physically be able to return home, the event or his place of work. It just seems too far removed from the norm for any official to not do one of those things.
