U.S. warns Putin of 'catastrophic' consequences over nuclear weapons

Do y'all think that Vladimir Putin is crazy enough to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine? If he does, that will the take current war to a whole new level.

As far as I know, Russia has repeatedly said it will only use nukes if it's statehood it threatened. It has pretty strick protocols around that which the US is aware of, so unless they recently said otherwise then this just seems like the US government is just saying what it is to add pressure on to the Russian government. The idea might be that the more pressure that seems to be applied against Russia from all angles, the more likely a coup in Russia will be. The US let slip a while back about their focus being to remove Putin from power.
