  • Why are stolen African artifacts still in Western museums?

Please take the time to watch this video. The host of this video describes the cultural genocide of Africa when the purging in colonization has resulted in the Looting and all ancient African artifacts that have been connected to the majority of our culture. It's our history it's our culture and we must be able to return it to our African brothers and sisters . Please take a look.
African artifacts shown in museums worldwide are often not borrowed, but stolen -- and TED Fellow Jim Chuchu is on a mission to get them back. Learn the sordid history behind how many of the collections in the West came to be, Chuchu's extensive work tracking and restoring Kenya's cultural heritage and what these efforts can mean for the wider African continent. An urgent call for institutions to reconsider the morality of the objects they "own" and their significance to the communities from which they were taken.

Why? They probably would be safer where they are. Honestly I have seen African art in piles. Tons of carved materials that is straight out of the mother-land left in piles on the side of street corners like a joke.
